Chelsea is a neighbourhood in New York that stretches from 14th Street in the south to 30th Street to the north, with Sixth Avenue to the east and the Hudson River and West Street to the west. The area is home to a large and diverse population, which makes for interesting people-watching, and is the site of many beautiful buildings. The 34th Street – Hudson Yards station is conveniently located in the heart of Chelsea, making it probably the best option for transport to the neighbourhood. The area is ideal for a leisurely brunch over a week-end, with a large number of excellent restaurants scattered about. One of the best places to look for a week-end brunch would be the Chelsea Market. The market is set in an old factory and features an enormous number of shops and restaurants in a charming setting, perfect for whiling away the odd Saturday or Sunday. Chelsea’s shops and restaurants are a delight, reflecting the area’s impressive cultural and ethnic diversity. The area features residents – and subsequently shops and restaurants – from a vast range of cultures, to the point where the canny visitor need only ask around to be able to enjoy an original taste of home for brunch. A number of the restaurants offer delicious brunch buffets on Saturday and Sunday, making them the ideal destination for a family outing with the children. If you’re in the mood for sightseeing, Chelsea is also an excellent destination. While not jam-packed with impressive historic sites, the neighbourhood has a certain charm, and features sights such as the beautiful Church of the Holy Apostles, the Hudson River Park, and the Rubin Museum of Art.
